No, those regretful MAGA voters don’t learn from their mistakes
When we think of such people, most of us think of the Trumpers who cry when they also get negatively affected Trump’s policies. If only others are negatively affected, they wouldn’t give damn; in fact, they voted for him either because they wanted to harm the “others” OR they simply wanted to trigger the libtards. It is either selfishness or immaturity.
As we all know, that’s the not only reason of the regret: some of them also feel duped. But, that’s not an admission of flaw they think it is.
They actually try to frame Trump as a rhetoric genius who crafts the most believable lies which even the most intelligent people fall for. Here’s the thing: he is not.
Come on, his claims are very easy to debunk and his track records explicitly and unambiguously contradict his campaign promises. He is one of the most obvious frauds ever….. and yet, people easily fall for him, like the dumbest cartoon characters falling for the most obvious disguises. They still refuse to acknowledge that the “alarmist libtards” they have been mocking this whole time… turn out to have been right this whole time.
Not to mention, they love projecting certain images to public figures, both the ones they love and hate. While it is definitely delusion, I cannot comprehend why some people choose Donald J. Trump specifically to project their ideals onto…. and then act surprise he is different from they imagined. If I have to assume, they are desperate to feel politically victorious and they choose him due to his ability to win elections, which gives a misleading impression of majority support; no, receiving about fifty percent of the votes is not a landslide.
To sum it up, they have yet to own up to their own gullibility, delusion, selfishness and immaturity. If there is another Trump-like figure arising in the future, they would vote for that person as well.
So no, we shouldn’t be forgiving and gentle towards those regretful voters. We should keep mocking them, mock them until they start acknowledging their many errors, mock them until they start feeling ashamed of themselves.
And yes, social shaming works. If we can make minorities end up hating themselves and some even become suicidal because of it, we can definitely do the same to MAGA people.
